Save Our V10!

Liberal Democrats urge residents to join the campaign to save the V10 and oppose any downgrading.
The Lib Dems have been dismayed to discover that developers, Crest Nicholson, still have proposals buried within the details of their planning application, to divert the V10 grid road through the Oakgrove estate and to downgrade it to 20 mph.
After a couple of years of delay and consultation, Crest Nicholson recently submitted their plans to the Council to develop the Oakgrove grid square. Although the main drawings for the planning application, unusually, don't show any indication of the road layout for the grid square at all, Crest Nicholson's masterplan showing the diversion of the V10 is included within the paperwork to support the application. The major transport and environmental assessments that they were also required to provide are based on the assumption that the V10 is moved and downgraded.
Council Leader Isobel McCall had made it clear to Crest on numerous occasions that the Council's Lib Dem administration was against the V10 diversion plans.
Isobel McCall said; "I am very disappointed that Crest Nicholson still clearly intend to rip up a piece of our grid road network, although recent press statements from them and English Partnerships have tried to fudge the issue. They should be honest with the public about their intentions. I would urge residents who value the grid system to join our campaign to stop this madness."
Residents can write to the Planning Department at the Civic Offices, 1 Saxon Gate East, Central Milton Keynes, to object to the plans up to the end of December or sign our petition by following the link below.
