Chis Williams, the Liberal Democrat cabinet member with responsibility for highways has set aside extra cash to sort out pothole problems caused by the bad weather in February.
The LibDem-run Council has already made road and pavements repairs a top priority for 2009/10, and therefore included £300,000 in the budget specifically for road and pavement repairs.
Chris said: "Unfortunately, due to the snow and ice in February, large numbers of potholes have appeared throughout Milton Keynes. The cabinet realised that additional money would be needed to fund this extra work, which is why I have agreed to provide an additional £250,000 specifically for pothole repairs.
"Improving roads and pavements is a top priority. I am delighted that, during the budget consultation earlier in the year, residents agreed with the LibDem priorities and sent us a clear message that they also wanted road and pavement repairs to be a top priority. By responding rapidly to the effects of the bad weather, we can continue the work already being undertaken to fix not only the potholes but other road and pavements problems.".
