The new £2.6m Coachway building is taking shape as the date for its opening is just a few months away.
Frequent users of the A509 will have seen the building develop over the past six months and now the vision to have a Gateway that welcomes people to Milton Keynes is becoming a reality.
A key aspect of the building design is the striking roof canopy which is nearing completion and will provide a covered seated area for passengers taking coaches, local buses and taxis.
Inside the building there will be a heated waiting area for approximately 100 people with seating positioned to let passengers see the customer information screens and coach bays clearly.
Other facilities will include a café, a convenience shop and ticket office for the National Express Group, public and disabled toilets with baby changing facilities and a taxi service. The site will have 24-hour manned security with CCTV coverage of parking areas.
Liberal Democrat councillor Alan Mallyon, cabinet member responsible for transport said: "This iconic building will be the welcoming gateway that will serve as a public transport hub for all of Milton Keynes."
