It's Official - Lib Dems are Improving Council Services

6.00.00pm GMT Thu 1st Jan 2004

The independent Audit Commission Report on Council Services concludes that services have improved since the Liberal Democrats took control.

The Council was graded "weak" when Lib Dems took over, but has now improved to "Fair". The Commission says "Milton Keynes Council has made significant improvements to social care, revenues and benefits, special educational needs and waste recycling services over the last year". It also commented favourably on plans for further improvement.

Cllr Isobel Wilson said "This is great news as it provides independent proof of the good job Liberal Democrats are doing clearing up Labour's mess."
