A Bridge Too Far

7.08.00pm GMT Thu 12th Feb 2004

Tattenhoe residents are delighted that the Council's Development Control Committee unanimously rejected an application by English Partnerships to build a road across the Linear Park in Ta t t e n h o e. All of your local Liberal Democrat councillors joined residents in opposing this application at the December DCC meeting.

English Partnerships (EP) have given a written undertaking to respect the DCC decision and the wishes of most Tattenhoe residents.

Councillor Martin Snell said, "As a Tattenhoe resident, I was appalled at the EP proposal to desecrate our lovely wildlife corridor with a totally inappropriate bridge."

The Focus Team will continue to put pressure on EP to consult with local residents and their councillors before submitting planning applications.
