Connexions to be Run by Milton Keynes Council

The renowned Connexions Service for young people is being passed from the Milton Keynes, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire (MKOB) Connexions Partnership to Milton Keynes Council. This information, advice and guidance service for 13-25 year-olds, which is seen as one of the highest performing such partnerships in the country, will cease trading at the end of March, with the government funding for Connexions transferred to the three individual local authorities.
All current services to Milton Keynes' young people within the Connexions remit will continue. Connexions is currently delivered through a variety of organisations, all of whom are keen to continue providing services to young people across Milton Keynes. The work is delivered through personal advisers based in secondary schools, careers offices, the youth service and the voluntary sector in a variety of locations.
Liberal Democrat cabinet member for children and young people, Councillor Sandra Clark, said: "We are thrilled to have the Connexions Service come into Milton Keynes Council and be able to join up with other valued services working for young people in Milton Keynes. We will make sure these changes will not interrupt the service to young people."
