Isobel receives her award from Simon Hughes

Milton Keynes Council's Liberal Democrat Leader, Isobel McCall, won a major award for Inspirational Women of Achievement at the recent Liberal Democrats' national conference in Brighton. Isobel was presented with the award on the main conference stage by the Liberal Democrat Party's President, Simon Hughes MP, in front of an audience of over 1000 members.

On receiving the large silver platter Isobel said: "I am honoured to receive such an award. This is a new award, so to become the very first recipient is very flattering.

"The award has been named after Patsy Calton who, despite being seriously ill with cancer, continued leading campaigns and working hard as an MP right up to her sad death. She was a really inspirational woman and I will try hard to live up to her values."
