Five Liberal Democrat key pledges

A Liberal Democrat council will:

Tackle crime and anti-social behaviour

• Reduce anti-social behaviour

• Increase the number of community safety wardens

• Reduce the fear of crime

Support older and vulnerable people

• Support more older and vulnerable people to live independently

Support our young people

• Improve GCSE results

• Provide more activities for young people

Improve public transport

• Increase the number of bus journeys

• Work with partners to deliver East West rail

Tackle climate change

• Introduce a food waste scheme to reduce landfill

• Reduce the Borough's carbon footprint

• Take action to prevent flooding

Create equal opportunities for all

• More affordable homes to rent

• Reduce the life expectancy gap between different parts of the Borough

• Work with partners to deliver the University

• Improve access to services in rural areas

Improve the quality of our neighbourhoods

• Make MK even cleaner

• Tackle the problem of HiMOs

• Create a pride of place

Provide services at a cost that residents can afford to pay

Deliver growth sustainably

• Continue to campaign for adequate funding for services

• Provide more leisure and sports facilities, especially for young people

• Support growth if timely infrastructure is provided
